Botanically dyed natural fibres by Jemima Saunders

Announcement    MYLIEFIE the home of botanically dyed natural fibres and special things ♥ PLEASE note I am a Mumma of four so my weekends are spent climbing trees and jumping in rivers and I am closed Sat and Sun so all convos sent FRI-SUN are answered on Monday :-) Find me on Instagram MYLIEFIEBUSHDYE

All My Liefie clothing and accessories are designed by me - Jemima Saunders, I use only natural fibres as my dyes are plant based and only work that way and also because natural fibres are so much more awesome than wearing a plastic bag!!!

Each piece is individually hand dyed using bush dyes (natural plant dyes) where the colour is obtained form the leaves, bark, fruit and flowers of plants. Every item is made in my home studio in the Tumut Valley, NSW, Australia.

My range of items are designed to be worn together as layered get ups or apart. The My Liefie collection is designed to be worn, the natural fibres allow for breath ability, comfort and you can also rest assured that you are buying an individual unique piece of wearable art created with the the utmost care and love. Care for the environment and care for your garment also :-)

The very nature of a handmade garment using natural fibres and uniquely dyed with its own set of leaves/flowers means that there will be variations and subtle differences within the same range and style. I hope that if you have chosen My Liefie clothes and bits you will see this as marks of its maker and something to be cherished...

MY FABRICS:

MILKYMERINO - is a fibre made from Australian Superfine Merino and milk protein. I use a lightweight jersey knit and a heavier weight interlock. This fabric is stretchy and super soft, it is honestly hard to believe it is wool. Milkymerino is the reason I started making my dyed pieces into clothing!!

MERINO WOOL/BLEND- This is what I use for my leggings, singlets and long sleeve tops. It is 95% Australian Merino Wool and 5% Spandex which is a must when you want leggings and tight fitting clothes that snap back into shape!!

SILK NOIL- (raw silk) It has a nubby feel and a low sheen. Noil somewhat resembles cotton in surface texture, is breathable and has a lovely drape. The nubby texture of noil comes from the use of very short fibers, called 'silk noils,' to weave the fabric. When these short fibers are spun into yarns, the resulting yarns have occasional slubs and loose ends. 100% Silk.
